The Predator falling Prey

I warily arise, haunting shadow of the mists,

Gripped by enervating fear, my heartbeat skips,

With the makers of time, I dread, a serendipitous tryst…

You declared me as, the epitome of grace and might,

In solitary peace, my beauty thrives,

I foresee a destiny painted with uncertain plights…

You call me cold, calculative, courtesy my fiery eyes,

Have you seen in them silent screams, as I plead for life?

While you exalt me as your country’s pride…

Proclaimed emblem of the Wild – the Uno Apex,

Worshipped as protector of sanctity of wilderness,

I kill, not for greed nor pleasure, yet now I prowl in distress…

Donning the boldness of black, white and gold,

My ancestors once thrived, now looms a future untold,

My fate carved by you, the greedy and cold…

As I discern the paradoxes of you queer two-legged ones,

A nagging unrest penetrates my conscience,

Evokes for my kith and kin, a silent prayer for freedom…

My deep orange once blazed, happy and bright,

Once a fire brand, today reduced to a scarce sight,

Fuelled by shackles of greed, ‘tis an unending strife…

My dancing stripes of gold, don’t they resemble your festive lamps?

And yet I see these flicker, of existential pangs,

Your fickle voracity, has snatched away my rightful stance…

Yet I continue to wander, now the sparse lands of yonder…

In search of solitary peace, untouched by egoistic beasts…

Ensnared in invisible jaws, of you dictators of Wild Clause…

As your cruel hands on a quest, give birth to rivers of red…

Rivers of red that bleed, in my black and gold they seep…

Bathe me in bleak stark tinge, undistinguish the killer from killed…

PAINTS A STORY OF TODAY, THE PREDATOR FALLING PREY…
